Ground ladders are life-safety equipment. LadderLight is designed to add visibility to the ladder without changing how the ladder is built, carried, raised, climbed, or maintained.
NFPA 1931 and NFPA 1932
NFPA 1931 is the Standard for Manufacturer's Design of Fire Department Ground Ladders. It governs how ground ladders are designed and built, including the ladder's rails, rungs, and end (heel and tip) protection.
NFPA 1932 is the Standard on Use, Maintenance, and Service Testing of In-Service Fire Department Ground Ladders. It governs how departments inspect, maintain, and service-test the ladders they already own.
LadderLight is a direct replacement for the ladder's existing end caps. It installs in minutes with no additional parts or protrusions, does not alter the rails or rungs, and preserves the ladder's normal function so your department's NFPA 1932 inspection and service-testing routine does not change. The accessible test button integrates with daily check protocols.
How we test
Rigorous testing allows us to transform a firefighter's innovation into a product you can depend on. LadderLight end caps are made of die cast aluminum alloy, are American made, and are tested to the highest durability standards. They are designed and tested to perform reliably as a part of the ladder in smoke, darkness, heat, and flames.
Field testing
LadderLight has been field tested in Travis County, Texas. Chief Ken Bailey of Travis County Fire Rescue – ESD #11 reported: "The light is not so bright or blinding that it distracts from getting back to the ladder. When you are on the roof, it clearly marks where your ladder is. We are confident this product will improve safety for our Department."
Industry memberships
Ladder Light is a proud member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the Fire Apparatus Manufacturers' Association (FAMA), the Fire and Emergency Manufacturers and Services Association (FEMSA), and the Fire Department Safety Officers Association (FDSOA).
